Implants

Patient experience · Single front-tooth implant; talked through denture, bridge and implant options; nobody can tell which tooth is the implant

    Read the transcript

Well, I had to have an implant. I lost my front tooth while I was on holiday, which is an awful experience. I couldn't speak properly, I couldn't eat properly and I couldn't smile at anybody. Obviously, the first thing I did was came to see the doctors at Clear Dentistry. They talked through with me my options of having a denture, having a bridge or having an implant. I was able to make an informed choice of what I could afford and what was best for me. They then put a sort of a program written out so that I would see how many times I would have to come, what the treatment was going to be. So, it was good to be able to understand the whole process of having an implant. I was never in any pain at all. I said quite a few people, can you tell which tooth is the implant? And nobody can tell. Even my friend who's a dental nurse couldn't tell which tooth was the implanted one. I can't imagine finding a better dental practice anywhere else. You know, if I had to move to another county, I'd probably make the trip back.

Patient experience · Serious gum disease, lost teeth, implants; years-long complete revision led by Dr Chris Leech

    Read the transcript

I've been seeing him over the edge for a number of years. He gave me a clean bill of health every time I went to him. I was convinced that everything was fine. In fact, Chris demonstrated very clearly that it was not the case. And I had serious dental problems that required a considerable amount of expertise, money and time in order to resolve. I had serious and malignant gum disease. Plus I lost teeth and having lost the teeth, it required implants. It required a complete revision of dental health that went on for a number of years. Now all is well and I'm really, really grateful. I absolutely recommend Clear Dentistry. They've looked after me remarkably well with a level of professionalism and skill that I have never had from a dentist before and I would recommend them to anyone with any sort of dental concern.

Patient experience · Major implant work; nervous patients

    Read the transcript

Well, I've been coming to Clear Dentistry about six years. It's such an easy process when you come here. After one or two visits, all those fears and anxieties go. A welcoming star, you're not kept waiting too long before you go in. A full explanation is given before and then in proceeds very professionally and does a splendid job really. Many people are nervous about going to the dentist. The dentist understands what you're going through. He works so sensitively and so carefully. You hardly feel anything is going on really and I've had some quite big stuff done with implants and things like that and it really has made a difference to my life.

Patient experience · Implant with bone graft and gum graft; on-screen explanations

    Read the transcript

The thing that I like about the dentist here, they make you feel at ease. Not to worry about things, explain things to you properly so you know exactly what your treatment is. People to point out exactly what you need doing and the reason why you need doing it so that you can actually see it for yourself. I think that's really interesting when they show you everything on a screen so that you can see it larger than life. The last treatment I had was an implant and the bone graft and the gum graft took a long time in the chair but they kept asking me how did I feel? Was I okay? They don't even try and steer you towards doing something you don't want to do, give you options and choices. I know I just think they're amazing.

Patient experience · Two implants and a bridge by Dr Chris Leech

    Read the transcript

They've had two implants and a bridge done by Chris, Chris Leach, and thus the major work and then obviously just the normal kind of check-ups and the like. I think they're professional, which starts with the overall service and one of the good things I think is the fact that if you've got an appointment at 10 o'clock then you get seen while the dentist or hygiene is at 10 o'clock. They show you the pictures of inside your mouth so you can actually get a visual image of what's going on, whether it be photographic, x-ray, you know you get a clear idea of what they're going to be doing. Both the dentists are seeing very good explaining what's going on, what they're going to do, offering you the different choices and the like. I found them to be really modern, professional, and friendly as well, which is important. I would recommend them. I think they're highly professional, I think they're probably the best dentist I've ever been to.

Patient experience · Implant, crown, Maryland bridge removed; iTero 3D scan instead of impressions

    Read the transcript

I have a very long history of orthodontic problems with my teeth. Chris's approach to what I've been through with my teeth my whole life was, that's not a problem, we can fix that. I liked Chris's Cando attitude and it was about saving my smile if you like. Chris has put a crown on my left hand canine, he's taken my Maryland bridge out and now we are almost at the end of actually fixing a tooth so I've got an implant at the moment. I'm from that generation that when you had your braces on as a kid you went in there with these metal trays with this ghastly tasting goop in and they pressed your teeth into it and it all squished up, it was foul. Chris said I did impressions and thinking oh my god that stuff again. No, no, no. He went round my mouth with this thing that looked like an electric toothbrush and up on the screen there was this 3D image of my mouth and by the time he showed it to me that image was already with the lab so that they could make my new tooth and it was just well that is awesome you know.

Cosmetic dentistry

Patient experience · Veneers after a discoloured root-filled tooth; precise preparation

    Read the transcript

So I actually saw an adverb for Clear Dentistry on Facebook and decided to sort of venture out and find it myself. Really, really appreciated all the advice I was given, came in for a root canal that I'd had done previously that I wasn't happy because the tooth was really discoloured. And Chris actually talked me through veneers which I hadn't thought of as an option before and also some discoloration on my two front teeth which I really wasn't happy with. They weren't being affected by the teeth whitening that I was having done either. It's definitely the right practice to come to if you want some kind of cosmetic treatments done. I've had other treatments here but definitely the precision and the accuracy for my veneers was perfect. I was quite worried because I thought a lot of my teeth underneath the veneers would be damaged but the precision of it is less than half a millimetre of my actual tooth was removed so that made a massive difference to me. I'm so much more confident. I used to actually use an app to whiten my teeth because I was so affected by it so it's just made it so easy. I'm not afraid to smile in photos anymore with my mouth open because I'm just so happy with the results.

Patient experience · Four veneers and composite build-ups; natural shade advice

    Read the transcript

I came to Clear Dentistry with an absence actually and from that point on Chris has sorted out my teeth in various different ways and it has made a massive difference to how confident I feel. I've noticed I even smiled differently. I've had four custom-made veneers on my top teeth and four composite teeth built up on the bottom jaw as well. When I had my custom veneers they came back from the lab and we were trying them on for size and I said oh I'd quite like it if you could position them so that they're all in a neat row and they all sort of literally they're flush with each other but Chris said well you know we could do that. Here's why I wouldn't recommend that because it will immediately look like when you walk into a room people would think wow teeth and instead he just sort of moved them a little bit more naturally so they weren't completely flush with each other and yeah he was right immediately I looked in the camera in the mirror and yes I could see what he was talking about. I would probably have also gone a bit whiter which I shouldn't have done and I think one of the great things that I remember Chris saying to me was 45 year old guys don't have teeth that white Justin and I was thought yeah you're right and he was of course spot on.

Restorative dentistry

Patient experience · Crowns; anxious generation, painless care

    Read the transcript

I was born of the generation where people were brought up to be petrified of dentists. In previous days they caused a lot of pain, had no explanation, it was a very scary experience. And suddenly meeting these new young dentists, it's absolutely fantastic. They keep you calm, they give you wonderful treatment. Very sensitive, very caring. When I first came here I needed some crowns to be done and they did them painlessly. Obviously teeth are very important and as one gets older you often need a bit more treatment. Everybody is really helpful from when you first ring to make an appointment. Then when you go in for your treatment the dental nurses are always lovely and as the the dentists themselves. Nothing ever seems too much bother for any of them which is something that's very special.

Patient experience · Failed front bridge, extractions, bone graft, same-day temporary bridge

    Read the transcript

I came here a little bit a year ago because I had an old front bridge which was causing a lot of problems when I saw Chris. I was really surprised to find that it was more problematic than I thought because I needed several front teeth removed and bone graft. When I was told all the treatment I needed I felt sure it would be especially somewhere else. And to know that the expertise here and the equipment was really up there with all the technology and all the services they provide. I had some intensive x-rays which showed the problem with the bone receding. Lots of photos so I can see before and after shots. He removed the teeth and did the bone graft and even made a tent-proof bridge for me which was sort of putting in the same afternoon. Even with the tent-free one which was only in for three months it made such a difference and now I've got the proper one in. Yeah, really really pleased.

Patient experience · Could NOT have implants (low bone density); alternative frame on her own teeth

    Read the transcript

I couldn't have implants because the bone density was too low. The option that Dr. Chris gave me was that I could have this special treatment. It is a frame that is onto your own teeth that are filed down and there's some strips of metal put on over the top of your teeth and then this frame where goes over and then it goes to be sorted out of the lab and that's what I've got now. I've only had to take them out to clean for about three or four minutes. I can put them back in so I don't have to have the my teeth in a cup by the bed for the night. I can now taste my food better because I haven't got place in and I just feel on my own teeth. I'm very happy with the treatment and the way it was explained to me and I think it's fantastic and if anybody asked me my advice I'd say go for it.

Everyday dentistry

Patient experience · Filling; saw the tooth on screen; atmosphere

    Read the transcript

So what I really like about Clear Dentistry is just how professional they are, how approachable they are here and the level of service that you receive as well. The moment you watch through the door everyone's incredibly friendly. It doesn't really feel like your typical dental surgery, everyone's really approachable. There's always a great atmosphere. The decor is really homely actually but it's homely yet still professional and it's just got a really nice feel about it. Again as soon as you walk in you feel very comfortable. It's a nice space to relax before you go into see your dentist or hi-genist so it's a nice space to be in. Recently I came in for a feeling and Lee could actually show me on the screen a blown up image of the tooth which is the back of my mouth and of course I've never seen that part of my mouth before and it was really interesting to see really the state that the tooth was in and he could take me through step by step what he was going to do and it gave me a lot of confidence in the procedure they were about to perform on me. I would absolutely recommend Clear Dentistry in fact I have recommended the practice to a few of my friends already who come here and they're very very happy. They kind of approach their taking to dentistry it's something I really admire so I'll be one of their patients for a long time I'm sure.

Patient experience · Fillings, chipped tooth; seeing inside the mouth

    Read the transcript

What I like about clear dentistry is the overall experience. It's not only the treatment that you're getting, it is the approach to the treatment you're going to have and how it's done. It makes you feel very comfortable. If there is a problem, then there is going to be a way to overcome it. Being quite frank about it, I had neglected my dental health. I had a chip tooth. I've had several fillings, dentistry is part of treatment from checkups. The experience of being able to see the inside of your mouth very clearly is for me quite important. And of course at the end of the course of treatment, you can see the end result.

Patient experience · Chipped tooth fixed within 48 hours; annual polish; iPad check-in

    Read the transcript

I had a chip tooth once and Clear Dentistry sorted me out within 40 hours I got to see the dentist and yeah they were superbly supportive it was fixed in the flash and you could hardly tell. I think for me going to visit a dentist or a doctor or anything of this sort of ilk. It's clean, people are professional, they're happy, potentially you could receive some bad news in a place like this but it doesn't ever feel like you're going to know so I think that's a really nice thing that they do here. The thing with my teeth staining is that it builds up over time it's something that I can't avoid really other than giving up my mind which I'm not prepared to do. So yeah every year I come along for a polish and it's paying for it, it's excellent stuff and really friendly. I mean even to the point where I went and got the reception of the day I had an iPad to fill in my details. I mean the technology just seems to have moved on leaps and bounds since the previous dentist practice I went to. The major thing for me is interaction with the dentist themselves you're actually shown this is what's happening and that's enabled me to make some really easy decisions about what I want to do with my teeth.

Patient experience · On-screen images, clear costs, value

    Read the transcript

If I were asked to recommend clear dentistry, I'd do so without any reservations whatsoever. The reasons I like clear dentistry is because the offices are clean, well presented, well organised. You get the impression that it's properly managed. I've got a very tight schedule myself and they come back to you immediately. As soon as you come in, you know exactly what you're in for as far as the cost of the concern of any treatment that you like to have and everything works like clockwork. When the dentist is examining your mouth, if they come across anything which is a bit grubby or suspect, they can immediately take either moving or still images of that tooth projected onto the screen. The dentist can then explain what it is, what his opinion on any treatment is or cleaning that's necessary. I enjoy the whole process. I enjoy watching what's going on. I enjoy having it explained to me. And I like that. You know, I know exactly now what's in and under my teeth. You know exactly what it's going to cost and you know it's going to be good value for money.

Nervous patients

  • Glynnis

    1:01

Patient experience · Trust and confidence to smile; nervous and phobic patients

    Read the transcript

The treatment that I've had here has been exemplary. I don't give my trust very easily. People have to earn it. I totally trust what they say I need doing. Everybody expects to have a nice smile and as you get older that gets harder because your teeth discover and they get broken and it's hard. It's hard to maintain that. The dentist here has allowed me to have the confidence to smile. The patient is a partner in what's going on. So you are told and things are explained to you and if you say I really don't get that, they'll try a different way of explaining to you. So you understand what is happening. If you understand there's less to be fearful about, especially if anybody out there is really frightened and phobic, come and talk to these people. They know what they're doing. They understand and they understand your mindset as well and that is really important.

Practice manager · his experience of having treatment as a staff member

    Read the transcript

Start work here as a practice manager here in July of 2018 and I've been in support for about a year and I'll bang on. So since being here I've kind of obviously learned so much and kind of really throwing myself into learning about dentistry and its importance to your wider healthcare not just purely about your mouth. Since being here obviously knowing how good the guys are and obviously wanting to get in the chair I kind of had my eyes open to what I needed a lot of work particularly too straightening or whitening and also fixing some historic issues. A lot of decay as well which I was really unaware of it is clear and it is transparent you know every single thing about it is explained to you. You know I had a couple of feelings the other day and it was so interesting being talked through it the importance of it's not just about filling the hole it's getting rid of the decay inside. Your smile is such an important part of you it's the thing that people see you know you look at people's faces all the time when you're talking so you know it's obviously going to help me with everything even you know my confidence.
