What we collect, and why

When you send us a message, a call-back request or a referral through a form on this site, we collect what you type: your name, contact details, and anything you tell us about your enquiry or, for a referral, about your patient. We use it to respond to you and to provide the service you have asked for, and it is stored in the practice's patient management and enquiry records. Our lawful basis is your consent, given when you send the form, and for patients, the provision of dental care.

Forms are sent to the practice through a form service that operates on our behalf and keeps the data in the UK. Every form carries an anti-spam check that runs in your browser and does not identify you.

Cookies and third parties

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. We use Google Analytics to count visits and enquiries so we can see how the site is used; it is set up not to store analytics cookies on your device, and it does not share data for advertising. Your browser may store a small preference, such as a menu state, on your own device only.

Some content is provided by third parties and loads only when you ask for it: the Google map on the contact page opens when you press "Show the map", our films play from our video host when you press play, and online booking opens at Software of Excellence's booking service. Each of those services has its own privacy policy, which applies once you use it. Our website may also link to other websites; we have no control over them and are not responsible for their handling of your data.

Patient records

The practice is registered with the Care Quality Commission and complies with its requirements for patient records, on paper and online. Clinical records are kept for the periods required of dental practices, and may be shared with other registered dental or medical professionals involved in your care. We hold information securely, with physical and electronic safeguards in place, and we handle all personal data in line with UK data protection law.

Your rights

You have the right to be informed about how your data is used; to access it; to have it corrected; to have it erased where it is no longer needed; to restrict or object to its processing; to data portability; and rights in relation to automated decision-making, which we do not use. To exercise any of these, call the practice and ask for the data controller.
