About facial aesthetics at Clear
Facial aesthetics has been part of Clear Dentistry for many years, with Dr Laura Milligan providing doctor-led aesthetic treatments from the practice.
Dr Laura is a medical doctor with extensive experience in facial aesthetics and a particular interest in helping patients look refreshed, natural and like themselves — just a little bit more rested.
Her approach is very much about enhancement rather than transformation. There is no one-size-fits-all treatment plan, and Laura will never recommend a treatment simply because it is popular or because you have asked for it.
Instead, she takes time to understand what is bothering you, assess your facial anatomy and explain what she believes would genuinely make a difference.
Sometimes that means treating. Sometimes it means doing something completely different from what you had initially considered. And sometimes, it means doing nothing at all.
The aim is always the same: subtle, considered results that still look like you.

Meet Dr Laura Milligan
I'm Dr Laura Milligan, a medical doctor with a special interest in aesthetic medicine.
I qualified as a doctor in 2009 and have been working in medical aesthetics for many years.
I love the combination of medicine, anatomy and aesthetics. Understanding how the face is structured — and how those structures change as we age — is fundamental to achieving natural-looking results.
For me, aesthetics isn't about trying to make someone look younger than they are or changing the face they've been given.
It's about understanding what has changed and why, and deciding whether we can improve it in a way that still feels completely natural.
I also believe that having an aesthetic treatment should never feel like being talked into something.
If I don't think you need a treatment, or I don't think it will give you the result you're hoping for, I'll tell you.
I'd much rather have an honest conversation than carry out a treatment that isn't right for you.
Your consultation
Where it all starts
Every appointment starts with a proper consultation.
You don't need to arrive knowing what treatment you want — in fact, I'd rather you didn't.
Tell me what you're noticing, what you'd like to improve and, importantly, what you don't like about the idea of aesthetic treatment.
I'll assess your face as a whole and talk you through what I think would work, what wouldn't and why.
We can discuss different treatment options, expected results, limitations, risks and costs so that you can make an informed decision.
And there is absolutely no obligation to have treatment.
A good consultation should leave you feeling informed, not pressured.
Natural results
The aim, every time
My aesthetic philosophy is simple.
I want you to look like you — just on a really good day.
I don't want people to look at you and wonder what you've had done.
Ideally, they'll simply say:
"You look really well."
The best aesthetic treatments are often the ones that aren't obvious. They subtly restore balance, soften the signs of ageing or improve the quality of the skin without changing the character of your face.
I don't believe in chasing trends, overfilling or treating someone simply because there is a treatment available.
Less can be more.
Safety first
Aesthetic treatments are medical procedures and should be approached with the same care and professionalism as any other medical treatment.
As a doctor, I have extensive medical training alongside dedicated training and experience in aesthetic medicine. I continue to undertake ongoing education and training to ensure that my practice reflects current knowledge and best practice.
Patient safety is always my priority.
I take a thorough medical history before treatment, discuss potential risks and complications and ensure that appropriate protocols are in place.
And if I don't believe a treatment is appropriate for you, I will say so.

Facial aesthetics at Clear Dentistry
Working alongside a dental team makes perfect sense to me. So much of facial aesthetics is about understanding the relationship between the teeth, jaw, muscles, soft tissues and the wider face.
But ultimately, what matters most is having a clinical environment where patients feel comfortable, looked after and confident in the care they're receiving.
That's what I've always valued about working at Clear Dentistry.
